Roope Eronen, Kevin Regan, Tero Niskanen, Niko-Matti Ahti and Mikko Lagerbohm phone it in from Turku, Finland. With nearly 10 core members in three cities, dozens of peripheral members from just about every band in Finland, and dozens of releases on as many labels, no two Avarus sets sound alike. Primitive, child-like, joyous, and free, combining psych-folk, motorik Krautrock, free jazz, and modern noise into a mesmerizing and unique whole. Don't call it Finnish free folk.
