Providence is an incredible place, but it's a hard town for indiepop. Most of its more recent pop bands have either moved on or disbanded. But remember Small Factory? Remember Honeybunch? Remember the 1992 Providence Popfest?

Well, neither do we, because we weren't around then. But Butter Days captures that exuberance, puts it into little jars, and gives it to you for free. With a smile. And a song you won't get out of your head for fucking days.

The pop monster that is Butter Days- tonight Jimmy Potter, Henry Freedland, Michelle Snow, Britt Harwood, Kathleen Ross, and Jon Sidhu- phone it in from their secret hideout on the East Side of Providence, RI. And if you think that's a lot of people, it's sans members Lena Buell, Colin Baker, Devin Beecher, and Ian Sherman.

So what's in that jar? Boy-girl vocals. Inventive percussion. Whistling and melodica. Anthemic whoa-oh-oh's. Even with so many people and so much going on, this show sounds fantastic. Shivers guaranteed.
