Andrew Bryant phones it in from Pittsboro, MS. Our first call to the Magnolia State. With a rich, deep voice recalling Jackson C. Frank with a Southern accent, Andrew cinematically charts the back roads of Mississippi rural boredom, marginal living, and the eventual chains of responsible adulthood. Raised on the tension between his parents' Hank Williams and mail-order punk rock, he eventually returned to his country roots (you can't run, can you?) and hasn't looked back, releasing six albums in five years, with at least another in the can. If you like Lucero, you'll love Andrew Bryant; and if love Lucero, well this guy's married, so you'll just have to cool it.
